Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris was born on the 20th of October 1964. She is an American politician. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female elected vice president and also holds the title of most powerful female officer in the history of America. She is a member and former US senator who represents California. Harris was born and was raised in Oakland, California. Her professional career started in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Harris was later promoted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she was appointed the San Francisco district attorney. In 2010, Harris was appointed Attorney General of California. She was reelected in 2014. Harris was the junior member of the United States Senate from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the second African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. As senator, Harris fought for federal de-scheduling of healthcare, and cannabis legalization which could lead to the citizenship for undocumented immigrants as well as the DREAM Act which bans assault weapons. Her pointed questioning of Trump officials during Senate hearings has garnered the attention of the nation, which included the second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh who was indicted with sexual assault.
